Today was such a great day! Madilynn and I went to the Dentist early this morning. I know some might say that would not be a good start for a great day. But Maddie was so good and ready to get her teeth clean. It was her first time so she really didn't know what to expect. So we entered the dentist office without hesitation with all of our layers of cloths. It was freezing that morning..... The wonderful ladies at the front desk told Madilynn where the play room was and she was gone before I could say, "yeah go ahead" lol! While we were in the play room she heard this loud noise and she went to see what it was. Well, it was only another person getting their teeth cleaned. She asked, "Are they going to do that to me". My reply was that, You will have to lay in the chair but that noise is just the suction they use to get the water out of your mouth and then they will polish your teeth to make them nice and clean." I told her it makes a lot of noise but it would not hurt. Then she ask me if I will go first, so I agreed! They called us back and Madilynn had to take a pic of me in the chair...heheh! She watched for a while and then headed back to the play room. Periodically, she came in to check on me... She climbed in my lap a few times to see the Hygienist scrapping the plaque from my teeth... She was very fascinated by that.... Then it was her turn and jumped in the chair was ready to get her teeth cleaned. The Hygienist showed her everything she would be using and showed her how it worked...Kudos to the hygienist, she was awesome! Madilynn gripped the chair and opened her mouth and was ready to go. She did not cry, throw a tantrum or even flinch...she just held on to her chair and occasionally looked to see if I was still there. Such and angel!!!! As we left she asked if she could go get ice cream since she did so good. I told her after I pick her up from day care we would do something special since she was so good.
I picked her up around 5 and told her we were going to gymnastics and that she gets to participate....she couldn't believe it. So we headed to the gym...and she said this is my gym and where u go mommy is your gym.(SO cute) She changed and we headed to the bleachers to wait until they called her class. She kept asking me are they going to call my name...they called the class by age groups. Once they called her group she flew down to them and was the 2nd in line with the biggest grin on her face! The class was on their 4th week and this was Madilynn's first day. But that did not affect her one bit. She watched and listened and did as she was told! They set up a little obstacle course for the girls after their stretches. They started with a front tumble, then crawl through a tube, walk on a balance beam with hands up, then run and jump on the vault and landing with both feet. She caught on so fast. And the whole time waving at me and saying "I love you Mommy" and "I'm doing so good". Then they split into groups and went to the other parts of the gym! They walked on the balance beam and did a V-sit. At the end they stamp their hands and did a group hug! One of the things that was impressed with was at the beginning of class they gave each child some GERM X on their hands and then let them into class! Hallelujah!....there are so many germs and parasites out there that I have become a germaphobe! Madilynn did not want to leave... she asked if she could stay and watch...I think she is going to like it! Her treat for going to the dentist and being good was a trip to Dairy Queen! Is was that or she could buy something at the Dollar store but she has been wanting ice cream for a few days now so that is what she had!!!!
